European Community Manager
At Niantic, we’re passionate about real world, social, mobile games that encourage players to go on adventures on foot with others. Our Marketing team seeks a Community Manager to serve as a player advocate capable of building quality community marketing and engagement programs in Europe. We’re looking for an enthusiastic candidate with solid communication and editorial skills and experience growing a brand’s presence online. Being a knowledgeable ‘expert’ about brand communications, community management, and social media is a critical requirement for this role.The ideal candidate will work closely and collaboratively with Niantic’s global marketing team to plan, manage, and execute cross channel campaigns. This candidate will also lead the development of creative, results-driven community marketing campaigns and engagement plans for product launches, new feature rollouts, and events. This role also works alongside the Niantic global marketing team to drive player engagement, retention, and online acquisition.

We also develop Pokémon GO, which has broken world records and been downloaded over 750 million times in its first year. We announced Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, our latest much-anticipated AR game.

Responsibilities
- Act as subject matter expert in core features, mechanics, metagame, in-game promotions, target KPIs, and community sentiment
- Measure, monitor, and create detailed reports on community sentiment, concerns, and suggestions
- Represent the voice of the European community in meetings with stakeholders of varying levels and job functions
- Adapt global community marketing campaigns and plans for product launches, new feature rollouts, and events for the European markets
- Measure, monitor, and report on marketing campaign and engagement performance in European markets
- Work with global community managers to ensure campaigns are tailored to be impactful and appropriate for the European market
- Create and schedule content on our European social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, and YouTube
- Directly manage the European social media content through use of an editorial planning calendar and social media management tool
- Generate high-quality blog and social media content
- Identify, support, and act as the point of contact for European community content creators, fan sites, and organizers
- Work with multiple internal teams, stakeholders, and partners to integrate key European community content creators, fan sites, and organizers into campaigns
- Identify high-quality user generated content for sharing across official channels
- Represent the company online and at events
- Deep, demonstrated experience in online community building and social media management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience with brand communications, community management, and social media
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in community relationship building, partnerships/collaborations, and talent management
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership, management, and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and how they can be leveraged to achieve business goals
- Strong written communications and editorial skills
- Able to make critical decisions under time constraints and a full workload
- Able to work long hours and weekends when needed
- Able to travel, including international
- Strong familiarity and knowledge of Pokémon GO and Ingress, their communities, and other gaming communities
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English and German
- Proficiency in written and spoken French is a plus
- Experience working within strict brand and legal guidelines is a plus
